Ajaz Khan: It’s better to do a prominent role in a small budget film rather than do a two minute role in a 5-crore film
The actor, who is all set to shoot in the city next month onwards, is happy to be playing a UP lad in his upcoming film.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SHOOTING IN LUCKNOW
Actor Ajaz Khan is looking forward to shoot in Lucknow June onwards. In town recently to participate in the muhurat of his upcoming film Ishq Baazi, Ajaz says he is looking forward to relishing the kebab-parantha and mangoes while shooting in Lucknow.“It's going to be very hot and crazy I know.
I remember when I was shooting here for Ya Rab, it was very hot at that time also. So I'm ready to get tanned in Lucknow again,“ says Ajaz.
Talking about his role in the film, Ajaz says, “Ishq Baazi jo Lucknow ke ladke karte hain. I'm going to play a gangster-type obsessive lover. Jo bolte hain na yahaan ke ladke ki'Tu meri nahi hui toh kisi aur ki bhi nahi hogi' that type. Typical UP ka ladka jo katte le ke nikal jaate hain ghar se, bas usi type ka ladka play karunga. UP ke ladke mujhse bohot pyaar karte hain, toh it'll be fun playing them on screen. It's a parallel lead and I'm happy with my role in the film.“
HAVE A VERY GOOD SCRIPT WHICH I'M PRODUCING
Ajaz his hands full with plenty of films in the pipeline. "I have six films in hand in Bollywood, 17 down South and more to look forward to. I'm playing different characters, so as an actor, I'm really happy. But yaar ek cheez batao, jab Shah Rukh Khan romance kar sakte hain, toh main kyun nahi kar sakta," says Ajaz, who is also turning producer soon. Ask him about it and he says, “I have just started a film called
King. I have a few friends who are investing money into a film that I am producing. I had a very good script in mind, which I wanted to make into a film. We just did the muhurat of the film."

HAPPY BEING FAMOUS AFTER BIGG BOSS
The actor, who became popular post his stint in the seventh sea son of Bigg Boss, credits the show for bringing him into the limelight. "I'm happy being famous after Bigg Boss getting new fans, getting work with the blessings of my mother and my fans. Rohit Shetty told me that he likes my work and would cast me in one of his films, while I was participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi. Neeraj Bora also said he likes my work,“ says Ajaz.
He adds, "Ekta (Kapoor) se bhi abhi achha equation hai, toh lag raha hai ki aage bhi career achha hi chalta rahega, all thanks to Bigg Boss. I'm also doing a film with Pooja Bhatt called Nark, and another one called Mumbai Saga with Sanjay Gupta. Most of the films that I'm doing are small budget ones. But I'm happy that inn small budget ki films mein I may not be playing the protagonist, but I'm playing a prominent role. I feel it's better to do a prominent role in a small budget film rather than do a two-minute role in a Rs 5 crore film, jisme aap dikho bhi nahi. I'm happy that small producers who can't afford big stars are wanting to do their films with me. At least, I am in consideration for acting in films big or small."
I CANNOT TOLERATE NONSENSE
Though Ajaz did get a lot of footage as a contestant on Bigg Boss, his housemates were evidently more than happy at his ouster from the game, courtesy his frequent brawls in the house. "I cannot tolerate nonsense. In all my fights, I have always been very honest. Agar main kahin bhi galat hota toh na toh public, na Salman sir mera saath dete," says he, adding, "Mera kisi se bhi aisa jhagda nahi hai jahaan main galat hoon. Salman (Khan) sir loved me so much. Shuru mein laga tha jaise he didn't like me, but later on, it was so evident that he liked me and my honesty ."
MY WIFE KNOWS I'M A FLIRT
In spite of being married and having a son, Ajaz was known to openly flirt with his female co-contestants on Bigg Boss, most notably Gauahar Khan and Sofia Hayat. "See people forget that I am an actor. That's a platform where you have to act and to entertain people. So uske liye I will do whatever it takes to entertain people. People say it's a reality show, but how many are real there? Who has the guts to show their real selves on national television? I'm at least an honest guy who says I am a flirt. My wife can take my honesty. She says at least I know my husband is a flirt, and I like his honesty in admitting that," says Ajaz, adding, "Agar koi mujhe achha lagega toh main usse yeh bolunga. And if people don't like it, it means they are dishonest. They are hypocrites and do things behind their back. My wife knows what I do, because I don't need to hide anything from her. Na main Ram hoon, na main Sita dhoond raha hoon. I'm a man and I like to look at beautiful women, appreciate them and flirt with them."
