Seeks NRIs’ help for ‘Smart Village’ programme

Telugu Desam Party Workers’ Welfare Fund coordinator Nara Lokesh has called upon the NRIs to adopt villages to transform Andhra Pradesh into one of the top three states in the country.

Addressing a gathering of NRIs in New Jersey on Saturday, Mr. Lokesh said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has a vision to make Andhra Pradesh a topmost State by 2029 and best place in South East Asia by 2050. And, to achieve this, villages must be developed as smart villages, he said. Brahmaji Veliveti, NRI, said Andhra Pradesh should have an NRI Bhavan to serve as a one-stop-shop for all NRIs. If the government provided land, the NRIs would raise $ 1 million for the purpose. TANA president Mohan Nannappaneni, NATS Vice President Madhu Korrapati, Mohan Krishna Mannava, Jay Talluri and others spoke.
