The Manandawadi Road in Mysuru has been renamed after late M.S. Gurupadaswamy, the former Union Minister, at a flittering function organised on Sunday.
The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) had organised a function here on Sunday for renaming the Manandawadi Road after M.S. Gurupadaswamy, who was a Union Minister.
Mayor R. Lingappa, Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner C.G. Betsurmath and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman K.R. Mohan Kumar were among those present at the function.
The renaming of the road coincided with the fourth death anniversary of Gurupadaswamy. Speaking on the occasion, the participants paid rich tribute to the veteran socialist leader.
A veteran socialist, Gurupadaswamy served as the Union Minister for Petroleum during the tenure of V.P. Singh as Prime Minister.
