Porbandar BJP MP made co-operative bank chairman

Farmers' leader Vitthal Radadia and BJP MP from Porbandar Lok Sabha constituency of Saurashtra region in Gujarat was unanimously elected as the Chairman of Shree Rajkot District Co-operative Bank Ltd.

RAJKOT: Farmers' leader Vitthal Radadia and BJP MP from Porbandar Lok Sabha constituency of Saurashtra region in Gujarat was unanimously elected as the Chairman of Shree Rajkot District Co-operative Bank Ltd (RDC) as he managed to win all 17 seats of the co-operative bank in the election held a few days ago. For the seventh consecutive term, Radadia was elected as chairman of the RDC Bank.
Vitthal Radadia, Lueva Patel strongman, has been Chairman of the RDC Bank since 1995.

Vitthal Radadia has remained undefeated in electoral politics irrespective of his political party symbols. He and his son Jayesh Radadia were Congress MLAs but they switched to BJP just ahead of the Lok Sabha polls last year. Radadia is BJP MP from Porbandar.
RDC bank has 184 branches in Rajkot district. During the 2014-15 financial year, RDB bank had given loan of Rs 1576 crores to farmers under Kisan Credit Scheme. However, Radadia waived of interests of the loan as farmers did not get enough prices for their farm produce and came into rescue the farmers.
