KORAPUT: Contrary to government claims of taking all steps to contain spread of fever on the Bonda hills in Malkangiri, fresh cases of malaria and fever were reported on Saturday.
According to health officials, two persons tested positive for malaria and 18 for viral fever in Badbel village. A middle-aged man was affected by malaria at Andrahal and 49 people are down with fever at Andhrahal and Katanguda.
"The persons who have been tested positive for malaria are being treated in the village. The situation is udner control," said medical officer of Khairput hospital Debabrata Barik.
According to Barik, two separate health teams are moving in the Bonda hills and attending to each and every patient.
