The Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination has expressed satisfaction with the performance of College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSP). The committee met on Saturday with MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi in the chair.

CPSP President Zafarullah Chaudhry briefed the committee on the college’s agenda and its objectives. He said the college was established in 1962 with the objective of teaching, training and monitoring postgraduate medical education and holding transparent examinations. The committee recommended formulation of a five-member committee consisting of CPSP representatives. It said the committee should serve as an advisory body for the federal government on various health issues. The committee recommended that provincial governments expand the Emergency Medicine Fellowship programme.
