KARACHI: Multan, Bahawalpur and Lahore emerged as only winners as the remaining five fixtures in the opening round of the PCB-Pepsi Cricket Stars Under-19 Tournament were draw on Friday.

Lahore inflicted a seven-wicket defeat on Sialkot in their Pool ‘A’ match at the Shah Faisal Cricket Ground in the Punjab metropolis with Ahmer Jalil claiming four wickets in each innings.

In Pool ‘D’, both Multan and Bahawalpur secured crushing victories by innings against Faisalabad and Azad Jammu Kashmir, respectively.

Multan trounced Faisalabad by innings and 90 runs at the Bhutto Cricket Ground in Islamabad. Uzair Abdullah and Mohammad Huzaifa starred with nine wickets apiece, while Usman Shafiq contributed 106.

At the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi: Bahawalpur outclassed Azad Jammu Kashmir by innings and 102 runs. Mohammad Junaid grabbed seven wickets for 30 runs in Azad Jammu Kashmir’s second innings.
