JAMMU, May 8: Punjab National Bank (PNB) will launch the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) in Jammu simultaneously with the inauguration by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kolkata on May 9.
This was informed by B M Fazili, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle here today in a press conference regarding the launching of ambitious Social Security Schemes pertaining to the insurance and pension sector at pan-India level.
Mr Fazili added that Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in Prime Minister‘s Office will launch these schemes in Jammu along with Bali Bhagat, Minister for Social Welfare, Pawan Gupta, MoS Finance & IT, J&K State, Dr. Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Jammu & D Sethy, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Jammu..
Mr. Fazili informed that Dr. Ram S. Sangapure, Executive Director, Punjab National Bank who will arrive in Jammu tomorrow will host the launching function here. PNB is launching these schemes in Jammu on behalf of Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Dr. Sangapure is personally monitoring the preparedness for the launching function and has urged the people to take the benefit of these schemes and visit the nearest bank branch as these schemes are the path breaking initiative towards providing affordable universal access to essential social security protection in a convenient manner linked to auto-debit facility from the Bank account of the subscriber, Mr. Fazili added. He further said that massive awareness drives had already been launched in the State so that people get benefitted.
Mr. Fazili was accompanied by K L Kukreja, Chief Manager, FGM Office Shimla, BM Panwer & Rajendra Singh chief Managers Circle Office Jammu.
