Jeep RenegadeBrazil – FMM Pernambuco Componentes Automotivos Limitada is now producing interior and exterior parts for vehicles assembled at the nearby Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) plant which was inaugurated on April 28. Majority-owned by Magneti Marelli (65%) while Faurecia holds 35%, the partnership is targeting annual sales of more than €200m ($225m) in the long term.

The joint venture facility is located with other tier ones in the FCA supplier park. The interior parts being made include the instrument panel, cockpit, centre console and door panels; the exterior components are the bumper and spoilers. These are already being delivered for the Jeep Renegade.

“Brazil is for us a benchmark market we have been operating in since 1978 and where we have a significant industrial presence,” said Eugenio Razelli, CEO of Magneti Marelli. “The partnership with Faurecia is very important because we can effectively integrate our mutual know-how in order to best contribute to key projects such as those related to Pernambuco.”

Magneti Marelli currently has 16 production units in Brazil plus five R&D centres, with a turnover of €820m and a workforce of 9,000. Faurecia has been present in the country since 1997 and employs 3,400 personnel at 15 plants and three R&D centres, with a revenue of €680m.
