38 injured as bus overturns

As many as 38 passengers suffered minor injuries after the bus in which they were travelling overturned near the Appanamma temple on the outskirts of Srikakulam town in the wee hours of Thursday.

The private bus from Odisha was heading to Jaipur from Behrampur via Srikakulam.

According to police, the driver lost control on the vehicle while negotiating with the drums that were placed on the road at Pedapadu to slowdown vehicular traffic.

Police immediately rushed to the spot and first aid was administered to the injured and a few were also rushed to RIMS Hospital.

Authorities claimed that the condition of 38 passengers was stable and they resumed their journey in another bus arranged by the district administration.
