The Tandil Basque club officially inaugurated its Jantoki (restaurant) with a pintxo-afaria (pintxo dinner) that gathered 100 people including members, friends and dantzaris.  Its new board of directors, with Maria Lidia Harguindeguy as its new president, and Esteban Kain as vice-president, announced new activities including a Mus Tournament that will take place on May 22. 

Tandil, Argentina.  In hopes of providing “an area to recuperate the spirit of Basque taverns,” the Gure Etxea opened the doors to its new Jantoki, located on the first floor of the clubhouse in the place the public restaurant was until the end of the year.  This space is now managed by the club and is at their disposition for club events, providing not only a Basque menu, but also “a typical Basque atmosphere,” like on April 25 when they held their first “pintxo-afaria” of the year.

On this occasion the club offered guests a menu comprised of a variety of pintxos and typical Basque dishes, accompanied by live Basque dancing and music.

Mus Tournament

Besides its regular activities, including classes in Euskera and dance, 2015 will also include some new proposals “always in hopes of catching up with the community.”  In this sense, on May 22, the night before the long weekend in Argentina, Gure Etxea invites everyone interested to participate in a Mus Tournament.
