Jumbo scare in Mandya village

A lone tusker which has strayed into villagers near Malavalli has spread panic among residents.

Anand, a resident of Hosahalli village saw the tusker strolling near a coconut garden and informed the police. Soon the news spread and hundreds of people gathered at the village to see the visitor. Police had a tough time in controlling the crowd.

Assistant Forest Officer Manju said that an operation was on to drive the elephant back onto the forest near Shivanasamudram.
