In November 2015 a novel, adults-only product will debut: V Samana, in Las Terrenas, an entirely new sort of Viva Wyndham. “The new resort will not be for people like me,” quipped Ettore Colussi, president of Viva Wyndham Resorts, but there’s a method to his joking: “It will be for younger, trendier people,” he explained at DATE 2015. “V Samana will appeal to…modern, style-conscious travelers for whom atmosphere, attitude, and experience are inseparable. We are elevating the Viva Resorts all-inclusive experience.”

Of the144 rooms (“at least for now”), all will have multimedia stations, a mini fridge, balcony or patio, and pillow menu. Each of 48 Vibe Rooms will also have an espresso machine, guaranteed ocean view, and plunge pool. “Guests need not be couples, but they must be adults,” says Colussi.

“The spa will use technology but be in tune with nature,” he adds, and a full slate of activities will include yoga, pilates, cocktail-making and cooking classes. There’ll be windsurfing, dancing, partying, and an excursions desk offering off-site activities. The four restaurants include a market-style buffet, a seafood restaurant on the beach, a seaside Mediterranean restaurant with some Dominican touches, a fusion restaurant, and a juice bar. Of course, there will also be real bars and a nightclub.

“This will be a unique and exciting alternative for active travelers,” says Colussi, emphasizing that this newer, hipper Viva Wyndham is for travelers who “seek to ‘be and experience’ in beautiful settings amid modern, contemporary comfort.” For more information, call (877) 999-3223 or visit vivaresorts.com or [email protected]
