The Honda HR-V will land in the UK during the summer

WITH its new 1.6-litre i-DTEC installed in Honda’s HR-V, the factory is claiming class leading economy when it arrives in UK showrooms this summer.

With the engine paired to a newly-engineered six-speed manual transmission, Honda’s new subcompact SUV boasts a fuel economy figure of up to 71mpg, with CO2 emissions starting from just 104 g/km while with 118bhp sprinting the HR-V from 0-62mph in 10.1 seconds.

Honda also claims class-leading interior space and versatility, advanced infotainment and safety technologies. It will be offered from launch with a choice of 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel and 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engines, both from Honda’s advanced Earth Dreams Technology series.

Inside, the new HR-V offers 453 litres with the rear seats up and 1,026 litres with the rear seats down

With the petrol buyers can choose a 130 PS 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine, achieving combined fuel economy of 54mpg and CO2 emissions from 120 g/km when matched to the CVT automatic transmission. With the standard six-speed manual, the engine claims fuel economy of 50mpg and CO2 emissions at 130 g/km. The sprint to 62mph is reached in 10.3 seconds with the manual and 10.9 seconds when equipped with the optional CVT.
