Mani Ratnam hospitalised after chest pain

He first survived a heart attack almost a decade ago in 2004, while filming for the film Yuva and now, acclaimed director Mani Ratnam was admitted to a Delhi hospital late last night once again, after he reportedly complained of chest pain.

The filmmaker was admitted to a hospital in the capital after a cardiac problem.

Although it has not been confirmed if Ratnam had suffered from cardiac problems, the doctors, who are closely watching him, have said that he is stable. The family has reportedly refused to make the exact nature of the medical condition public.

With a career spanning over three decades, Ratnam has become a name to reckon with in the south Indian and Indian film industry, with hits such as Dil Se, Alaipayuthey and his most recent film, OK Kanmani, which grossed close to 15 crore in its first week at the box office, last month.
