Ahsan rules out change in PCEC route

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ch Ahsan Iqbal said that the Pak-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) would change the fate of Pakistan, and help restore the confidence of foreign investors.
Addressing the party workers near Shakargarh-Narowal, he said that it would pave the ways for massive Chinese companies’ investments in Pakistan.
The federal minister strongly condemned the negative propaganda of the “anti-state” elements, saying that the objective of the negative propaganda was to create hurdles in the Pak-China Economic Corridor. He ruled out any possibility of change in its route. He said that the nation was agreed to the present route and design of the project. He added that the route of the Pak-China Economic Corridor will pass through Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Sindh, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The federal minister added that Allah Almighty has provided the country unique and great opportunity to build economically developed Pakistan, as the project would also eliminate 50-year social, economic and political deprivation.
He stated that the time had proved that both Pakistan and China were friends of all weathers and their everlasting friendship was being strengthened day by day. He said that the project would bring economic stability in Pakistan.
He added that the US$ 46 billion investment in Pakistan was an ample proof of Pakistan’s positive, effective and successful policies.
Inaugurating the newly established 132 KV grid station at Daska separately, MNA Syed Iftikharul Hassan said that the government was striving to rid the nation of energy crisis besides ensuring the maximum production of electricity by using all the available resources.
He said that Gepco has spent Rs352 million on the project which would open the vistas of socio-economic development in the region.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Chief Executive Gepco Zahur Ahmed Chohan revealed that the 132 KV grid station at Daska would be helpful in saving 4.9 million units electricity worth of Rs70 million by reducing line losses in Daska region.
He said that 36,000 electricity connections would be given to the applicants in Daska from the new grid station which would directly and indirectly benefit 182,000 consumers. He said that the old 66KV grid station would also be upgraded to 132 KV soon. Earlier, the MNA and the Gepco chief executive inaugurated the grid station during a prestigious ceremony.
