NEW DELHI: Four Mewat criminals who lured
businessmen from Delhi and other parts of the country by offering them lucrative 'deals' and abducted them for ransom have been arrested by the crime branch. The gang had kidnapped a London-based
businessman and his employee from Old Delhi Railway Station for a ransom of Rs 1 crore. According to police, the accused have been identified as Ilyas (28), Naseem (25), Irfan (26) and Abid (22), all residents of Haryana.

The kidnapping of the businessman came to fore on Sunday, when his wife got a call from her father-in-law informing them about the kidnapping. "The businessman's father, who stayed in London, got a call from an unknown person demanding Rs 1 crore as ransom for the release of his son. He informed his daughter-in-law who," Ravindra Yadav, JCP (crime), said. The wife also told police that her husband was accompanied by an employee who was also kidnapped.
Police conducted raids in Mewat and Delhi and arrested one Javed and also rescued the two victims unhurt. The businessman told police that, 15 days prior to when they were kidnapped, he had received a telephone call from a person who claimed to be a
