NASHIK: All eyes are on the verdict expected in the two-year-old double murder case in which former city mayor Yatin Wagh’s brother is an accused. Senior lawyers of the Nashik district court said the sessions court is set to give its final judgment in the case on Wednesday.
On May 7, 2013, Mohan Changle, 30, and Deepak Sonawane, 30, were allegedly attacked by Girish Shetty, Arjun Pagare, Rakesh Koshti and Vyankatesh More at an eatery on Gangapur Road.

According to Ramdas, brother of victim Mohan Changle, the accused had allegedly picked up an argument with his brother and Deepak Sonawane for not doing the work ordered by Rajendra Wagh, brother of former mayor Yatin Wagh.
As the argument heated up, the accused attacked Changle and Sonawane with sharp weapons. While Changle was declared brought dead at a private hospital, Sonawane died during treatment.
Hundreds of supporters of Mohan Changle, who was a former Shiv Sena member and an office bearer of a rickshaw association in the city, had created a ruckus in the city and at the Nashik Civil Hospital, where the bodies of Changle and Sonawane were kept.
The city police had taken action against two cops for their alleged role in instigating the mob after the murder. Head constable Mahendra Bairagi was suspended while police naik Krishna Chavan was transferred to Deolali Camp police station.

Bairagi had instigated the mob to indulge in violence in front of hospital where the victims were admitted. Although his duty was at the police headquarters, Bairagi had rushed to the hospital to meet Changle after the news of the attack spread.
Changle had been using Bairagi’s cellphone for a long time. After the attack, every move into the police investigation was being passed on to Changle’s family and supporters. Police naik Krishna Chavan was also in constant touch with Bairagi and was therefore transferred.
Police inspector Shankar Kolhe said charges of murder were leveled against all the accused in the case. He said all the accused involved in the case were arrested.
