Union minister lays foundation stone of rail training instt in Ghazipur

VARANASI: Minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha laid the foundation of North-Eastern Railways (NER) Regional Rail Training Institute (RRTI) in Ghazipur at a function on Monday. Addressing the function, Sinha said that strength of any organization depends on the expertise and capabilities of its employees. Similarly, in a bid to further the expertise of the employees of North-eastern railways, the foundation stone of RRTI has been laid.
“With the formation of East Central Railway, the NER became devoid of regional rail training institutes. But, now RRTI will be established in Ghazipur for the training of NER employees,” he added.Sinha said that the doubling and power-supply work of Chhapra to Allahabad rail wing has been approved and development work for better railway facilities at Ghazipur city station and Ghazipur district is being done. The establishment of washing pit at Ghazipur city station has also been proposed. Air-conditioned store room will also be constructed for convenience of farmers who keep the vegetables there. He also revealed that the project of Tadighat to Mau via Ghazipur rail route has been approved which consists of construction of rail overbridge (ROB) on river Ganga and flyover.General manager of NER Rajeev Mishra said that it was difficult to train employees of ECR as well as NER together at RRTI in Muzzaffarpur due to space constraint which led to the decision to set aside an amount of Rs 14 crore in the Rail Budget for establishment of a separate RRTI in Ghazipur. He said that the establishment of RRTI will help in providing better training to loco pilot, guard, station master, booking clerk, ticket collector and other employees. He said that advanced model rooms will also be set up apart from separate hostels for male and female trainees.
