The Karimnagar district police on Monday launched a 24-hour patrolling vehicle, which has a video camera affixed to it to record images of people causing a nuisance.

Stated to be the first of its kind in Karimnagar district, this patrolling vehicle will be moving round the clock. It will be manned by an SI and three constables in three shifts.

Superintendent of Police V. Shiva Kumar flagged off the vehicle in the police headquarters in Karimnagar town on Monday. He said that the patrolling vehicle would focus on people who cause a nuisance by consuming liquor in open places or quarrelling in colonies, streets and other sensitive areas.

The camera is specially designed to record images even when the vehicle is moving at a speed of 60 kmph, the SP said.

He also said that they were planning to install 30 more CC cameras in various parts of Karimnagar.
