Former Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Limited Chairman Vasantha Nageswara Rao has urged actor Sivaji to call off his fast in view of his deteriorating health.

Mr. Sivaji had launched a 48-hour fast here on Sunday, demanding that the Centre grant special status to Andhra Pradesh immediately.

Mr. Rao, who visited the actor on Monday, said that special status was the right of every citizen of the State and flayed the government for remaining passive to the demands of the people.

Meanwhile, a team of doctors from the Government General Hosipital visited Sivaji and conducted medical tests.

Condition stable

The doctors at the hospital said that the actor’s vital parameters were stable and there was nothing alarming.
