Artist to portray different facets of Naidu in office

Different facets of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his first year in office after the division of the united State will be depicted in drawings and displayed for viewing by artist G. Balakrishna.

Beginning from Monday, the artist will be sketching 20 drawings each day and complete the project by May 24.  Balu, as he is popularly known and who is an ardent supporter of Mr. Naidu, said “all his work during the 365 days will be reflected” in the line drawings. Right from his first signature on farmer’s loan waiver after taking over as the Chief Minister to latest events would be depicted. The drawings would be put on display in the historic town of Amaravathi on June 8, marking the completion of one year in office by Mr Naidu. Incidentally, Amaravathi will be the name of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Besides the depiction on farm loan waiver, Balu also completed other drawings on Monday which included distribution of pension to a widow and uniforms to school children.

Mr. Naidu’s visit to Hudhud affected areas, various welfare schemes launched by the State government, the Chief Minister addressing Collectors’ conference and several other happenings would be among the 365 drawings on display at Aamarvathi. 

To mark the birthday of Mr. Naidu, Balu had recently held another exhibition of 165 portraits of the Chief Minister.

The artist said he had organised 22 exhibitions on various themes including AIDS, pollution, ill effects of smoking and the life of tribal women in the last 16 years at different places.
