The myth of Sisyphus tells of a mythological king who was sent to Hades and forced to roll a rock up a hill, only to see it fall back again.
It was punishment for having betrayed a secret.
And it makes us wonder what on Earth we did to deserve this infinite loop of Nickelback:
The Vine takes a parody of Nickelback's "Photograph" that was posted to YouTube last week and makes it run forever. And ever.
The original video, only nine seconds long, shows Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger holding up a graph before it zooms in on an awkward freeze frame of his face.
That final frame makes us feel like we're staring into a void that's sucking all warmth and happiness out of the world. And it just keeps going.
It's not the first time the Internet has turned the Nickelback hit into a clever parody.
In 2012, the band's lawyers took down a popular website that allowed you to put your own images into the frame that Kroeger holds up in the video.
It also helped spawn this brilliant spoof by College Humor.
And it was much easier to take than Nickelback on infinite repeat.
Come, Grim Reaper, and strike us dead. Hell can't be as bad as all this.
