Still Alice is continuing to raise awareness for caregivers and Alzheimer's disease with an educational nationwide screening tour starting in May.

The 2014 drama garnered Julianne Moore a best-acting Oscar for her portrayal of a linguistics professor dealing with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. The film explores how her family (Alec Baldwin, Kristen Stewart) approach caregiving for Alice to help her through her struggle.

Now the Sony Pictures Classic film will be part of a nationwide series of screenings, sponsored by AARP, in support of the I Heart Caregivers Initiative — which recognizes the 42 million Americans who help older parents and spouses live independently.

The Still Alice screening series will launch in New York and Los Angeles in May and continue across the country in June. Each screening will be preceded by a presentation about the caregivers' initiative, followed by a Q&A and discussion featuring resources for caregivers.

Specific screening information for the national screenings will be available after June 1.

"Still Alice portrays a poignant story about living and caring for someone with Alzheimer's," said Myrna Blyth, AARP senior vice president, in a statement. "(This) presents a tremendous opportunity to not only share this powerful story but to give voice to the millions of family caregivers across America, and share valuable information and resources with them."

Here is the first 10 minutes of Still Alice, which comes out on Blu-Ray May 12.
