Liverpool's pursuit of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has been boosted by a frank admission from team-mate Leandro Bacuna.

In an interview with The Mirror, Bacuna admitted that Benteke would be hard to keep hold of this summer, with clubs like Liverpool interested.

“I live about one minute from him and go around his place,” said Bacuna. “We talk about his future a little bit, but we don’t know what’s going to happen.

“It’s going to be hard to hang onto him.

"I don’t know if he is the best striker in the Premier League, but he is definitely one of the best."

Elsewhere, The Daily Star reports that Liverpool, along with Napoli and Roma, are considering bids for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The same paper reports that Liverpool are weighing up a move for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier, who will look to leave Turf Moor assuming Burnley are relegated.
