According to Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com, the White Sox have agreed to terms on a minor league contract with outfielder Tyler Colvin. He’ll report to the club’s Triple-A team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Colvin opted out of his minor league deal with the Marlins at the end of spring training after failing to make the Opening Day roster and spent a month looking for a new gig. The 29-year-old posted 20 home runs and an .816 OPS in 2010 for the Cubs and 18 homers with an .858 OPS in 2012 with the Rockies, but he’s had some terrible seasons surrounding those.
