KAITHAL: Deputy Commissioner (DC) K M Pandurang has said the administration has started an investigation into allegations of demanding bribe from commission agents by transporters.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) K M Pandurang has said the administration has started an investigation into allegations of demanding bribe from commission agents by transporters.

“Strict action will be taken against those found guilty,” he said after meeting all officers of purchase agencies, commission agents and contractors in his camp office today.

The Tribune had yesterday carried a news report, “At Kaithal, price of lifting grain caught in Rs5 bribe”.

The DC directed them to improve the pace of lifting of wheat from grain markets of district.

All senior officers of all government purchase agencies, including District Food and Civil Supply Controller Surender Saini, Agro district Manager (DM) LM Narula, Hafed DM Satpal Sheokan, commission agent association members, Kaithal SP Krishan Murari, SDM Kaithal R K Singh, sectaries of grain markets and transport contractors attended meeting.

“The purchase and timely lifting of wheat are the responsibilities of all officers of purchase agencies. We will take strict departmental action against officers and blacklist the transport contractor if both failed to show an improvement in their working in a day or two,” the DC said.
