Raahgirs perform Odissi dance at Dwarka Raahgiri in Delhi

Odissi love: Dwarka residents took a break from the usual Bollywood naach gaana with special folk dance performances at this week’s Raahgiri Day.
Students of the Aradhana Nrutya Kendra performed in front of a cheering crowd at the TOI stage and left people so impressed that by the end of the performance, parents were looking for the instructors to get their daughters enrolled for traditional Odissi dance classes! Sukriti, who had come with her group of friends, told us, “I stay right here and the music from the stage is my Sunday morning alarm.We come down every week. This week we’re just chilling and dancing instead of working out, because even that’s a lot of fun.”
Sporty fun: Many sport enthusiasts came prepared with badminton racquets, footballs, skipping ropes and cricket kits, and impromptu games started all around the venue.
