SURAT: A two-day Chintan Shibir (brain-storming session) of Gujarat BJP began at Palsana, some 30km away from the city, in the presence of state president R C Faldu and chief minister Anandiben Patel on Saturday evening.
Sources said the two-day session has been organized to discuss the upcoming local body elections in the state. The meeting took place at a private property named Avadh Sangrila owned by a city-based realtor.
Rajya Sabha MP and BJP secretary Vijay Rupani said the aim of the Shibir is to highlight various welfare schemes launched by chief minister Anandiben Patel and to make sure that maximum people benefited.
He said the leaders will also discuss strategy to improve the party's strength in the state. Rupani said, "The brain-storming is also focused on the upcoming elections in the local bodies across the state. As always, the BJP is going to perform better than previous elections."
Around 30 leaders from the BJP were present at the Chintan Shibir.
