AHMEDABAD: It were the bowlers who won the game for Karnavati Club CC (KCCC) as they registered a comfortable nine-wicket win over Sayona CC (SCC) in under-19 Shahid Veer Bhagat Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, SCC were in pathetic condition after their top-nine batsmen failed to reach the double figures. It was the 27-run last wicket stand between Shivam Barot (10*) and Kushal Zalera (11), along with 18 extras that KCCC bowled, helped SCC cross the 50-run mark.

Siddharth Vaghela, Akash Revar and Saurabh Raval took two wickets each as KCCC bowled out their rivals for 54 in just 15.4 overs.
It was easy for KCCC as its opener Chirag Tejura then slammed an unbeaten 39-ball 40 as KCCC romped home in 9.3 overs losing just one wicket.
Meanwhile, Ajay Nai starred with the ball as a `generous' Deesa Sports Academy (DSA) registered easy nine-wicket win over MES 'A'.
Electing to bat, MES found themselves at sea with only Anurag Kanjani (18 off 50 balls), Dhruv Patel (13 off 20 balls) and Sanjay Kalara (13 off 19 balls) managing to reach double figures.
Ajay starred the show with five wickets, which masked an otherwise unimpressive day for DSA bowlers who conceded 36 extras including 26 wides, as DSA bowled out their rivals for 101 in 23.1 overs. DSA then ease through the target in 12.1 overs losing one wicket.
