Probe sought into private trusts

The Lok Satta Udyama Samstha district unit has urged the government to conduct an inquiry into the private trusts floated by district officials and elected representatives.

The Lok Satta unit on Saturday had felicitated a liquor trader J. Pruthividhar Rao, who had helped the ACB trap Prohibition and Excise Deputy Commissioner Shiva Naik for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 recently, in Karimnagar. Lok Satta president N. Srinivas and general secretary Prakash Holla said that some of the officials and elected representatives had formed trusts in the name of charity and were collecting funds by threatening people.
