Laussane agreement a 'huge breakthrough': Kremlin

Tehran, May 3, IRNA - Chief of Staff of Russia's Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov said the Lausanne statement on Iranian nuclear program is a 'huge breakthrough'.

'... the Lausanne agreement about the Iranian nuclear programme is a huge breakthrough, in my view,' he said in an interview to Russia Today TV Channel on Saturday.

On April 2, Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers issued a joint statement after marathon talks in Lausanne calling, among other things, for the removal of UNSC sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

The statement was read out in a joint press conference in the Swiss city by the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Aaccording to the agreement reached between Iran and the six world powers, Zarif said, all the US, EU and UN Security Council sanctions against Iran will be lifted under the final deal.
