Love at the double for champions

Alistair Love scored twice as champions Albion celebrated the title with a 5-1 away win at East Sterling.

Rovers ended a 26-year wait by lifting the trophy last weekend and Mark McGuigan got their party up and running in the ninth minute with a header into the bottom left-hand corner.

And two minutes before the break it was two, the left foot of Michael Dunlop converting a penalty awarded for a handball by Jon Tully.

Love then scored twice in 11 minutes as they began to run riot. First, the midfielder was teed up by Joshua Mullin in the 55th minute and then converted a pass from Marc McKenzie from inside the box.

Maxwell Wright had rattled the post for the home side before they did get on the scoresheet thanks to a header from David Bates.

But Albion then wrapped up a memorable campaign with seven minutes to go through McKenzie.
