Dalit youth murdered

A 22-year-old man from Dalit community was murdered allegedly by his would be in-laws at Bollapalli, near Martur.

According to Martur police, the body of B. Ratnaraju was found lying in a pool of blood in the wee hours of Wednesday. He died when was being shifted to the Addanki Government Hospital.

Ratnaraju was in love with girl from a different religion, who was working with him in a spinning mill. Police said that Ratnaraju was allegedly invited by the family members of the girl to a remote place, with the promise of performing his marriage. He was allegedly stabbed to death by hired killers at the behest of would be in-laws.

Dalit Hakkula Parirakshana Samiti district president Neelam Nagendra Rao demanded that a case be registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
