Kamal Haasan starrer 'Uttama Villain' to finally release today; all roadblocks cleared
New Delhi, May 2: A good news for all the Kamal Haasan fans who were eagerly waiting for his film 'Uttama Villain' to be released. Kamal Haasan-starrer will hit the silver screens on Saturday (May 2).
"All issues sorted out... 'Uttama Villain' releasing today all over... Thanks to all who supported for the film to get released," Haasan's publicist Nikkil Murugan posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The film, originally slated for a typical Friday release, had hit a roadblock following financial issues, disappointing the 60-year-old star's fans, who had thronged the theatres across the state in anticipation of watching their icon's latest movie, which had earlier crossed legal hurdles with a court declining to stay the film.
Vishva Hindu Parishad had objected to the portrayal of Lord Vishnu in the film.

The actor's earlier directorial venture, Vishwaroopam, had run into rough weather after various Muslim groups objected to the portrayal of the community.
Produced by Thirrupathi Brothers, the film is being distributed worldwide by Eros International. Apparently, the film's producers Thirrupathi Brothers owe Eros International nearly Rs.5 crore.
Beacause of the financial issues, the film's shows were cancelled in Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana.
