Teacher charged with choking 13-year-old student

A hotheaded Bronx middle-school teacher flew into a rage — flipping a desk and choking a 13-year-old student — after a classroom argument, police sources said Friday.

William Gomez, 39, began bickering with the boy at Soundview Academy at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

It allegedly made him so mad, he grabbed the student by the throat and pushed him to the ground.

Gomez, who has worked at the school since 2011 and makes $52,000 annually, was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. He was reassigned to duties that will keep him away from kids.

The boy was not badly hurt.
