Grade seven pupils will in 2017 begin to write Agriculture in their November examinations Manicaland Provincial Education Director, Mr Edward Shumba has said.

The move has been initiated because Zimbabwe has an agro-based economy that needs to be augmented by equipping the kids with the very basic skills which will enable them to perfect farming in the foreseeable future.

The marks breakdown will have a paper one which will form multiple choice questions contributing 20 percent, paper two contributing 50 percent and will be in form of a short answer question paper and the project marked by selected ZIMSEC officials scoring 30 percent to the total marks.

This will take the number of subjects examinable at Grade Seven to five as traditionally pupils used to write English, Mathematics, Shona/Ndebele and General paper. – The Manica Post
