A break in her shooting schedule and actress Lavanya Tripathi posts a dubsmash video on instagram, lip-syncing to ‘Darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream’ from Taylor’s Swift’s ‘Blank Space’, thanks to the Dubsmash app. Dubsmash posts have been flooding twitter and instagram all this week. From Rajinikanth’s punch lines to ‘mere paas maa hai’, every famous line, song is being given a new spin.

What is Dubsmash? It’s an app that can be downloaded on smart phones with front cameras and certain specifications. Once installed, it lets you select the sounds you want and get creative. You can lipsync to songs, dialogues, enact a sequence with your friends and let the world see it. Basically, it gives users a chance at spotlight and show the world how creative they can get.

The app has gone viral, almost, and users are having their share of fun interpreting and enacting popular dialogues their way; the film fraternity has also joined the bandwagon.

Composer D. Imman dubs a line from Ajith’s Aarambam , Tamil actor Simbu picks a line from Rajinikanth’s Padaipyappa ( Narasimha in Telugu) and music director Anirudh Ravichander does his version of ‘I am waiting’ from Thuppakki . Closer home, Vennela Kishore attempts Deewar’s immortal line ‘mere paas maa hai’.

Hindi film fans, meanwhile, are doing dubsmash videos with dialogues of Sonam Kapoor from Ayesha , Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met , Alia Bhatt in 2 States; Amrish Puri’s parting line to Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge : ‘ Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi ’; Salman Khan’s ‘ aap devil ke peeche, devil aap ke peeche ’ from Kick and Shah Rukh’s ‘ hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai ...’ from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai .

The fun quotient in these videos is enough to make you laugh at the end of a tough day. Dubsmash videos range from funny to silly, creative to even spooky. Yes, a user does the ‘I see dead people’ line from The Sixth Sense with utmost seriousness you’d want the scroll down and browse through his other dubsmash videos.
