Tributes paid to martyrs

Activists and leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) paid tribute to the Onchiyam martyrs at a function held near Purangara at Vadakara on Thursday.

The memorial meet began with a floral tribute to the martyrs . An oath was taken in the presence of senior party leaders. CPI(M) State secretariat member T.P. Ramakrishnan, CPI(M) district unit secretary P. Mohanan, and E.K. Vijayan, MLA, addressed the meeting.

Activists of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) paid tribute to the Onchiyam martyrs at a separate function.

The party also decided to observe the death anniversary of slain leader T.P. Chandrasekharan with various public programmes on Monday.
