Shalini Rajneesh, Principal Secretary of Backward Classes Welfare Department, said here on Thursday that the response of people to Social and Economic Survey (caste census) is poor in urban areas, especially in the jurisdictions of city corporations, when compared to rural areas.

Addressing media she said that enumerators have found many houses closed in the jurisdiction of city corporations during the survey.

She said that digitization of data collected by enumerators would be over by May end. Data collected would be integrated with details recorded in EPIC cards, Aaadhar cards, ration cards, Bhoomi records. In case of mismatch it would be verified whether the information provided to enumerators was wrong or was the data entered by the enumerators was wrong. If the data in the cards was wrong then concerned departments who issued them would have to correct it.
