Nellore scientist conferred RIN fellowship

Dr Satheesh is one of the leading navigation and avionics experts in the country
Nellore: Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, distinguished scientist & Director, Research Centre Imarat, DRDO Hyderabad, has been conferred with the prestigious fellowship of the Royal Institute of Navigation for his significant contributions in the fields of inertial and satellite-based Navigation and avionics technologies.
Established in 1947, Royal Institute of Navigation is one of the world's leading professional body dedicated to further the advancement of Navigation around the world.
The Institute has elected nearly 450 highly distinguished navigation professionals as fellows from all over the world and as on date Dr Satheesh Reddy becomes the first and the only one to be elected from India.
RIN Governing Council has invited Dr Satheesh Reddy for the Annual Meet scheduled on July 15, 2015 at London to personally bestow the fellowship. The navigation scientist Mr. Satheesh Reddy, was born to an agricultural family and belongs to Mah-imaluru village, Atmakur mandal of Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.
He studied in the Mahim-alore village itself up to Class X, Intermediate in V.R. College, Nellore, obtained his B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering from JNTU, Anantapur and received his MS & Doctorate from JNTU, Hyderabad. Dr Satheesh Reddy is one of the leading navigation and avionics experts in the country with nearly three decades of experience.
Dr Satheesh led the development of avionics technologies in critical areas of navigation, embedded computers, control, guidance, simulation, RF and infrared imaging seekers, satellite systems, power supplies, telemetry, ground systems & cybernetics for the entire Indian missile programmes and other defence programmes.
He developed the Redun-dant Navigation System for long duration missions navigating accurately the Agni 5 Indian ICBM class long range missile over a range of more than 5,000 kms.
Out of his sustained eff-orts, today the aerospace industry base of the country is strengthened to meet production requirements of state-of-the-art systems. He has led many strategic and tactical aerospace projects and has been successful in executing them. His pioneering contributions in promoting aerospace and aeronautics in India have been widelyacknowledged.
