The police have arrested Mohammed Nizar, alias Pookkada Nizar, the first accused in blackmail and kidnap case in which a gang had extorted money from a chartered accountant here.
The police said Nizar was arrested from Taliparamba in Kannur district. With this, all the nine accused in the case have been brought to book.
The police said the victim was forced to pose nude in the company of women twice in January and August 2014. Later these images were used to blackmail him.
The gang forced him to pay Rs.10 lakh. However, he refused to pay up the next time and they tried to kidnap him on August 28, 2014. The police rescued the victim.
