Indian markets bounced back in noon trade on Wednesday ahead of F&O expiry. At 1.02 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 18.91 points or 0.07% at 27,415.29 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 34.80 points or 0.42% at 8,250.80 with 25 components falling.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Axis Bank (3.19%), Wipro (2.34%), G A I L (India) (2.10%), I C I C I Bank (2.08%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.02%), and Tata Steel (1.60%).
On the other hand, Sesa Sterlite (3.73%), I T C (1.90%), Tata Motors (1.45%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.27%), Hindalco Industries (1.10%), and Dr Reddy's Laboratories (0.95%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
The Realty index was at 1,549.19, up by 14.19 points or by 0.92%. The Bankex index was at 21,056.46, up by 165.83 points or by 0.79%. The Consumer Durables index was at 10,378.83, up by 72.36 points or by 0.70%. On the other hand, the Metal index was at 9,975.69, down by 24.38 points or by 0.24%.
