Bina Aziz and I have parted ways, says Divya Gehlaut

    Synopsis

Divya Gehlaut says she will no longer be collaborating with Bina Aziz on her Gallery Odyssey project after the latter's outpouring in an Facebook post.

    ET Bureau
The launch of Gallery Odyssey, the ambitious art space in Mumbai opened by Indiabull's Sameer Gehlaut and his wife Divya, last Sunday continues to be the talk of the town. However, this time a controversy's brewing.
Over the weekend, ghazal singer Bina Aziz wrote an angry post on her Facebook page accusing Chhaya Momaya, who was the co-host of the gallery launch, of taking credit for putting together the event. Although Aziz deleted the post, the damage was done.

Divya Gehlaut, who had heard the news by then, has called off the gallery's association with Aziz. Speaking to ETPanache, Gehlaut made it clear that Aziz's role was to curate the works of Indian artists for the gallery in the months to come. She had nothing to do with the party. Momaya was the co-host.

"This is the work of an individual trying to garner attention and I want to ignore it. This has nothing to do with the gallery and the work we want to do and is completely uncalled for," she says before adding that Aziz's sudden outburst came as a surprise to her. "Just for the record, we have parted ways now," says Gehlaut.

When contacted, Momaya, too, said that she was taken aback at Aziz's insinuations that she hogged the limelight for the party and intentionally left Aziz out.

"This is ridiculous. I think I met Bina all of three times in my entire life. The third time was at Divya's office where our roles were clearly chalked out," she said. Aziz didn't respond to our cal ls or messages.
