Fazilka docs demand arrears

FAZILKA: Medical officials of the local civil hospital here observed a three-hour strike and took out a rally from 11 am to 2 pm to protest against non-acceptance of their demands.

Medical officials of the local civil hospital here observed a three-hour strike and took out a rally from 11 am to 2 pm to protest against non-acceptance of their demands. They also wore black badges.

Medical officers Kulwant Singh, Chander Mohan Kataria, Gaurav Sethi, Manjit Singh, Sonam and Rukku Kalra said after many rounds of talks with the government representatives, nothing had come out despite assurances.

Their main demands include payment of increased pay scale on the basis of 1989 notification, pending arrears, dearness allowance pending since 1988 and introduction of vehicle allowance for medical officers.

They also raised slogans against the Punjab Government. The officers warned that if their demands were not acceded, they would intensify the stir.
