Son kills father unable to find memory card

April 28, 2015 12:17 pm | Updated 12:17 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Enraged over his father not helping him find his mobile phone memory card, a son allegedly murdered the former on Monday night at Weepangandla village in Mahabubnagar District last night.

The victim G. Hanumanthu (42) lived along with his wife and son G. Raju (24) in a small tenement in the village.

On Monday night, Raju came home in an inebriated state and started searching for a memory card he had kept in the house. Unable to find it Raju inquired with his father about it.

Hanumanthu told him that he was not aware of its whereabouts. Raju picked up a quarrel with his father over the issue, but went to sleep after family members pacified him. "Raju woke up in the night and hit Hanumanthu on his head with a stick and a stone resulting in his death," Weepangandla sub inspector of police Ravi Babu said. Raju fled the scene soon after the incident.

The police registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code against Raju and launched efforts to nab him.
