Mohammed Mohsin, Commissioner of Public Instruction and Secretary in-charge of the district, on Monday directed the officials to speed up the social and educational survey work and complete it by April 29. He asked the officials to take up the survey of people without houses of their own on April 30, the last day of the survey.

Mr. Mohsin was chairing a meeting to review the progress of survey work. He said, officials responsible for tardy progress would receive show-cause notices and later suspension orders, if they failed to meet the deadline.

As on Wednesday last, the coverage stood at 28 per cent. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, through video-conferencing, had expressed disappointment over the performance in the district. As on April 27, about 72.4 per cent of households had been covered in the district. T Violation of guidelines during enumeration would attract punishment.
