24 Juniors battle In Chess Champ

The 2015 FMF Under-20 Chess Championship started at Olympic House in Suva yesterday.

The tournament attracted 24 top chess players from around Fiji.

Favourites Menash Fareed, Keez Terubea, Cydel Terubea and Zen Borg won their games while Sigatoka native William Bennion held National triallist Rudr Prasad to a draw.Fiji Chess president Calvin Prasad was happy with the turnout.

The tournament will end on Friday.

 About the Tournament

THE 2015 FMF U20 Junior Chess Championship winners earn the right to represent Fiji in the coming Oceania Zonal at Australia in July. The Zonal tournament is also a qualifier for the World Chess Championship in Europe later on in the year.
