Ahmedabad youth declared ‘wanted’ by FBI for murdering his wife

The police in USA have also declared a price money of US Dollar 20 thousand on Patel.

A native of Ahmedabad has been declared wanted in the list of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) of the United States of America in a case of murder where he allegedly killed his wife three weeks ago.

The accused identified as Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel (25) worked at internationally known donuts shop chain in Hanover in USA alongwith his wife Payal. Patel belongs to Kantrodi village of Viramgam in Ahmedabad District.

The police in USA have also declared a price money of US Dollar 20 thousand on Patel. The police have also urged citizens to call up at County Police 410-222-4743 or the tip line number 410-222-4700 if they spot Patel anywhere.

As per the details mentioned by the FBI on their official website, “Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel is wanted for allegedly killing his wife while they were both working at a donut shop in Hanover, Maryland.

On April 12, 2015, Patel allegedly struck his wife multiple times with an object inside the business and then fled the scene. A local arrest warrant was issued in the District Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County on April 13, 2015, and Patel was charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

A federal arrest warrant was issued in the United States District Court, District of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland, on April 20, 2015, after Patel was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution”.

The note goes on to say, “The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel”.

As per the details of the case with FBI, Bhadresh declared as ‘Case of the week’ by FBI on their website, has been charged with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution – First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure under the laws of the USA.

According to the case details, Bhadresh a native of Viramgam in Ahmedabad district is a resident of Ranip in Ahmedabad city whereas Palak was a resident of Wadaj. The couple were going through rough stage in their marriage and had informed their families back in Gujarat that their relationship is not working.

Bhadresh had allegedly bludgeoned her in the donut shop with a knife which led to her death on the spot on April 12. Payal’s body was brought to Ahmedabad for last rites after family went to collect her body on April 15. Bhadresh’s parents who live in Ranip are also allegedly missing from last three weeks after Payal was allegedly murdered.

It is suspected that Bhadresh has allegedly fled back to India and hiding in Gujarat after the murder. He was last seen in Newark and after that he was reportedly not seen anywhere in USA. Moreover, his VISA was going to expire in May this year.

The Ahmedabad Police has however now geared up to receive a communication through the Centre on the FBI’s investigation. The police have so far not received any official information through the Embassy or Centre.
