Trackwork on Funen to cause delays for 101 days

DSB alerts rail passengers to expect 30-minute longer travel times

Passengers on train lines between Odense and Fredericia can expect their journeys to be half an hour longer than normal between May 1 and August 9 due to reconstruction work on the railway tracks, warns DSB.

Over the course of the 101-day period, only one track at a time will be available on the line.

Reducing future delays
The tracks are going to be repaired in order to reduce the future risk of delays, DSB explained.

“Banedanmark will carry out as much of the work as possible during evenings, nights, weekends and school holidays when fewer customers take the train,” Tony Bispeskov, a DSB spokesperson, told DR.

Check the travel planner
DSB encourages all customers to check their travel planner for changes to the timetables.

Customers using regional trains from smaller stations between Odense and Middelfart will be served by bus, and during the Ascension holiday weekend (May 14-17) all trains between Nyborg and Fredericia will be replaced by bus.
